TN Law Enforcement Accreditation

The Martin Police Department was accredited by the TLEA in December 2012.  TLEA is a program offered by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police. TLEA requires adherence to over 150 professional law enforcement standards. In December 2022, the Martin Police Department was reaccredited by the TLEA.

The TLEA standards are designed to:

  • Increase the agency’s ability to prevent crime.
  • Increase the agency’s effectiveness in the delivery of law enforcement services.
  • Increase cooperation and effectiveness among other law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.
  • Increase citizen and employee confidence in the goals, objectives, policies, and practices of the agency.
